Reiki is a simple, effective, natural and safe method of healing designed for all ages and has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady with extremely beneficial results. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "Spirit guide" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy." The beauty of the system is in its simplicity and the simpler the understanding of it, the more powerful the results. Tools that we westerners call 'symbols' are used to increase focus and intention. Reiki is excellent for any physical, mental, emotional and spiritual issues of any kind and gives wonderful, uniquely individual results. 

When the flow of the "Life Force Energy" is disrupted, weakened or blocked, emotional or health problems tend to occur. Imbalances can be caused from many situations occurring in our lives, such as: emotional or physical trauma, injury, negative thoughts and feelings, including fear, worry, doubt, anger, anxiety, negative self-talk, toxicity, nutritional depletion, destructive lifestyle and relationships, neglect of self and lack of love for oneself or others, from emotions that are not expressed in a healthy way.

Each individual experiences Reiki in their own way! A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. One may feel sensations of warmth, coolness, tingling or some may even see colors or visions in their minds eye.  Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Many have reported miraculous results.

The purpose of Reiki is to transfer subtle healing energy to a client and help create "energy flow". This is done with the laying on of hands. The touch is light, and the hands stay stationary. In some situations, the hands may be placed two to five centimeters above the body. Since the energy is transferred by a powerful focus, it can travel though time and space and therefore can be given to a person placed in another room or to a person living on the other side of the planet! Miraculous indeed!

In a Reiki session, both the client and the practitioner remain fully clothed. Clients are placed on a very comfortable massage table, and may experience the session awake or sleeping.
