 Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has evolved, over it's 3,000 year history, into a unique system for diagnosing and curing illness.  TCM's understanding of the human body is based on a holistic understanding of the universe as described in Daoism; and treatment of illness is based primarily on the diagnosis and differentiation of syndromes.

Syndrome evaluation not only includes the cause, mechanism, location, and nature of the disease, but also the conflict between the pathogenic factor and the body's resistance. Treatment is based not only on symptoms, but also on the differentiation of syndromes. Those with an identical disease may be treated in different ways and, on the other hand, different diseases resulting in the same syndrome may be treated in similar ways.

The ultimate goal of TCM treatment is to balance the Yin and Yang in our lives by promoting the natural flow of Qi. When Qi flows naturally, we are healthy.
